Congratulations to Sen Zhang, who has been named a Commonwealth of Virginia Eminent Researcher, a title he can use for the next 5 years.  This title is being given by the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corp in order to retain the best and brightest faculty in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  This award comes with $1 million that will go towards the purchase of a new TEM for the catalysis efforts, as well as a salary bonus and supply money for the Zhang lab.  Vice President for Research Ram Ramasubramanian spearheaded this nomination of Sen as an eminent researcher.
